Govt Restores Peace Between Gonds and Muslims in Jainoor

Hyderabad: The Congress government has successfully mediated peace between the Gond Tribals and the Muslim community after communal clashes disrupted harmony in Jainoor, Kumarambheem Asifabad district on September 4.

Panchayat Raj Minister Anasuya Seethakka Dansari and Khanapur MLA Vedema Bhojju met with Advisor to Telangana Government Mohammed Ali Shabbir at the Telangana Secretariat on Monday to discuss future strategies. They briefed him on their meetings with Gond Tribal leaders in Utnoor and Jainoor, which aimed to understand the root causes of the recent unrest. Both leaders worked to restore relations, which had been peaceful for decades before the recent tensions.

Though the Telangana Police registered many cases related to the clashes, the Congress leadership focused on a long-term solution. Separate discussions were held with leaders from both the tribal and Muslim communities, emphasising the importance of regional development and growth. Their efforts led both communities to agree to resolve their differences peacefully.

Shabbir Ali said a meeting with Muslim leaders from Jainoor and surrounding areas would be held soon to understand the causes of the conflict. The aim is to find lasting solutions. After separate discussions, a joint meeting will be held to promote mutual understanding, followed by a meeting with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

Minister Seethakka and MLA Bhojju have already submitted a report to the Chief Minister regarding the violence. Their meeting with Shabbir Ali focused on devising and implementing a future action plan. While the State government has decided to compensate those who lost property during the riots and the police have taken legal action, Shabbir Ali emphasised that these measures alone are insufficient.

Congress leaders are taking proactive steps to prevent future conflicts by engaging both communities in dialogue. He expressed optimism, noting that elders and youth from both sides are eager to maintain peace. He also suggested that this approach could serve as a model for addressing communal tensions nationwide.
